Barry Plumpton,
Managing Director
Barry founded Focus Construction Interiors Ltd in 1999 and still retains day-to-day management of the business. He prices, administers, and oversees contracts and often still gets his hands dirty on-site.
A construction industry professional for more than 20 years, Barry has design experience in the creation of new partition systems and is always keen to work through new ideas from planning to execution to find the best materials and finishes for every project.

Nick Whittaker, Contracts Manager
Since joining the company in 2001 Nick has brought his valuable senior management experience to each and every one of the many major office fit-out and construction projects he has co-ordinated and project managed for our clients.
Nick develops excellent relationships with personnel at all levels and is always prepared to put in long hours to ensure that even the most complex projects are brought in on-time and on-budget.
Mike Dixon, Senior Quantity Surveyor
With more than 15 years of experience, Mike is a well-respected figure in the interior construction sector with an extensive knowledge of partition systems and their construction. Mike joined Focus in 2000 but has also spent several years in the UK undertaking large retail and hospitality projects.
Dean Ewing, Contracts Manager
Dean, an expert on demountable partitioning systems, has administered many of our top clients’ ongoing partitioning needs since joining Focus in 2000.
Approachable, co-operative, and able to work well with clients and contractors at all levels, Dean brings more than 14 years of experience in the Auckland fit-out market to every job.
Jeremy Frewen , Contracts Manager
Jeremy has a very broad background with 20 years of in-depth experience in construction and the associated supply-related industries.
An experienced project manager, Jeremy actively develops sound relationships with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors to help safeguard the success of every project.
Mort Howard Willis, Senior Quantity Surveyor
Mort’s involvement with the construction industry spans 35 years, including 22 years in commercial interiors and shopfitting. In that time he has worked as a director, project manager, quantity surveyor and contract administrator in New Zealand and London. His knowledge of construction is second-to-none, particularly in the areas of partitioning systems and shopfittings.
Chris MacDonald, Quantity Surveyor
Chris joined Focus in 2007 and is currently completing his first year of study for a Diploma of Quantity Surveying. Chris handles pricing and subcontractor documentation for small to medium-sized projects.
Deane Platt, Maintenance Supervisor
Dean has been with Focus from its beginnings in 1999 and currently heads our maintenance division. He brings a wealth of experience in office screen and furniture systems to our long-term maintenance contracts.
